At 19, I summited my first mountain (thank u Snowdon) wearing a £10 pair of trainers from Sports Direct and didn’t invest in a proper pair of hiking boots until I was 22. At university, I bought my first bike for £150 off Gumtree and cycled to Berlin with it.   • 👇Save this two week itinerary for your future trip to Kyrgyzstan🇰🇬🏕️ Here’s how I would spend 14 days in this Central Asian gem. I’ve left one day either side for arrival/rest day. 📍 Bishkek, capital – 1 day to explore the capital, stay at @tundukhostel 🚌 Local marsrutka to Karakol (580 som, $5) 📍 Karakol – 1 day to fuel up for the mountains, go to the famous noodle place in the main alley near the market. Stay at @hostelkbh ⛰️Ala-Kul trek – 3 days of lush forest and a turquoise lake, wild camping! 🥾 Boz-Uchuk lake trek – take a marshrutka 1hr from Karakol to Jyrgalan to go deep into the Tian Shan mountains. 
🚌 Take a local marsrutka from Karakol along the south shore of Issyk-Kul lake. 🏞️ Stop at Jeti Oguz and Fairytale Canyon. Sleep at @royalgate.skazka (or camp on the beach like we did!) 🚌 Take a local marsrutka on the main road to Balykchy and then a shared taxi to Kochkor, the gateway to Song Kul. 🐎 From Kochkor, get ready to start a 3-day horse trek to Song-Kul lake, sleeping in yurts and experiencing real nomadic life.
