  • In Nigeria I genuinely started responding to oyinbo (white person/foreigner). “Oh oyinbo, where you going?” “Oyinbo, you got a present for me?” 😂

  • A little insight into what the past four months looked like for me and what it’s like to overland through West Africa with a group ✌️🌍

  • Oh, West Africa, you were a challenge and Tallulah, our truck, took a battering.

6884 kms that looked small on a map, but felt endless. Some days, we covered only 100 km, bumping along at 8-10km/hour.

We crossed borders truly in the middle of nowhere. Names written VERY slowly into old ledgers. I was met with nothing but curiosity and kindness. And without fail, the very important question would come “Ma’am, why are you not married?“

But hey, the landscape is changing. The Chinese are well and truly here, building roads that lead straight to the natural resources. The journey is getting easier, and I’m glad I saw it like this. I’m pretty sure this version of West Africa won’t last forever.

  • In Gambia, I joined an overland truck as the tour leader, taking 22 people I’d never met all the way to Cape Town.

4 months later…
20,000 kilometres,
18 countries,
and more nights in a tent than I can count.

Leading a trip like this meant full-on long days, constant problem solving, navigating visas and border crossings, and learning how to deal with so many different personalities.

It wasn’t always easy but it turned into one of the most defining experiences of my life.

  • Last week, I was walking the dog on a rainy beach in Wales and today, I’m in Kenya making eye contact with a lion. Damn I love this life. 🇰🇪

  • I started this account purely as a travel account, but it’s slowly turned into a place where I feel I can show up as me — a place to document my growth, reflect, and inspire others to chase a life that feels real. ✨

This summer was all about slowing down. Spending time back in Wales, with family, old friends and giving myself the rest I definitely needed.

Now I feel inspired again, with new energy to keep pushing and to experience life in a way that feels right for me.

I’m evolving.
30 is creeping ever closer, and big things are coming.

I hope you stick around for the journey.❤️
